🎉🐾 Foster Update: The Miracle of Chica 🐾🎉

We're thrilled to share an incredible update on our fighter, Chica! Just last week, she was rushed to the Emergency vet battling Parvo, clinging to hope for survival. But thanks to the Monoclonal Antibody treatment, Chica's turnaround was nothing short of miraculous - she's now Parvo FREE!

Chica has a message she wants to share: a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who donated towards her treatment. Your generosity made it possible for her to receive the life-saving care she needed.

This brave 5-month-old is ready to embrace life to the fullest - playing, running, and spreading joy wherever she goes. And very soon, she'll be on the lookout for her forever home, where she can share her boundless love and zest for life.

Let's give a warm welcome to our newest arrivals, Bowie and Neeko! This dynamic duo couldn't resist the call of adventure, running straight into the arms of animal control before finding their way to the shelter.

At Doberman Underground, our policy is simple: "Don't leave a dog behind." That's why we've welcomed Bowie, a handsome 2 year old Red Male Doberman, and his sidekick Neeko, a playful 2 year old Black Shepherd, with open arms.

While these boys aren't bonded, they share a love for running and playtime that's bound to bring joy to any household. Their antics are pure entertainment, and watching them play together is a sight to behold!

🐾 #Pupdate Alert! 🐾

We're thrilled to share an update on our little explorers, Ferdinand and Magellan! Just a couple of weeks ago, these precious pups arrived at our rescue, barely clinging to life after being the sole survivors of a litter of 11.

Dehydrated, malnourished, and lethargic, their future seemed uncertain. But thanks to the power of good food, love, and the support of their canine siblings, Ferdinand and Magellan are now on the road to recovery and thriving!

Their transformation is nothing short of miraculous. With each passing day, they're gaining strength, motor skills, and a newfound zest for life. While they still need a bit more time before they're ready to find their forever homes, we couldn't wait to share their progress with you.

We think we can all agree that Dobermans are amazing dogs. In honor of "National Devil Dog" day, we just wanted to share some history of this magnificent breed.

The Marine Corps had the first large dog unit in the nation’s history consisting of German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and Doberman Pinschers. These Marine dogs were called the “Devil Dogs,” a name earned by the Marines during WWI. Twenty-one of the 24 dogs in the first Marine Dog Platoon were Doberman Pinschers. The war dogs stood guard over camps, delivered messages, alerted the Marines to landmines and traps, rescued wounded Marines and searched through caves looking for soldiers and supplies. It was noted that no Marine was killed while in a patrol led by a dog.

These “Devil Dogs” made the ultimate sacrifice. They lead over 550 patrols, and sadly, several died during their service there. Some of the other Devil Dogs who survived were actually adopted by their handlers after the war.

The loyalty and devotion of these courageous dogs has remain unchanged over the years. One of the many reasons we love our Dobermans!
